What's A Girl To Do?

I have a hair appointment this Saturday that I am pretty excited about. I'm totally the kind of person that will put off a hair appointment and put it off and then all of the sudden want it done and want it done NOW! I can't help it. Probably because 1. I am lazy and 2. I am a tight wad.
Let's be honest for a minute. It is expensive to get your hair done and while I love all things girly and getting pampered, I love having that padding in my bank account even more (I just realized my husband will love this post and the fact that I just said that).

Anyway, after my hairstylist went and moved to Tampa on me, I called up my friend Clelie and booked an appointment with her. She has never done my hair before as far as color or cut but she did my wedding hair and I trust her completely. It might help that I know her in real life and can be honest with her and tell her what I think.

So I am debating some new hair styles and would love your opinion. My hair is long right now so I was thinking I need a little length taken off so I won't be so hot and it will keep me from picking my split ends. Hey, I am being honest...

So which one do you like?

Get Outta My Head!

I seem to not be able to stream enough thought together to make one entire cohesive post so I will leave you with the ramblings of my brain... you've been warned!

~ If I had known that 1 year olds could be lethal germ magnets I may have second guessed this whole church nursery thing. I mean, I know I don't have kids and all but how do moms not get sick every five seconds? This sore throat is for the birds and its going on 2 weeks.

~ Casey Anthony verdict... disappointed. That's all I've got to say about that.

~ When did I get old? Not really sure, but it always seems like holidays are a tad more disappointing when you're in that transition in between married but don't have kids yet. This old fart was gone from the party by 8 and in bed by 9:30. I was also the crabby neighbor that was ticked when fireworks were going off outside my bedroom window at 2 in the morning! Come on people... you've seen one you've seen them all.

~ I have officially started my birthday countdown and I just wanted you to know that it is at 26 days. You're welcome.

~ The hubs and I's one year anniversary is next Sunday. We are celebrating Saturday night with dinner out although I don't know where since it's a surprise. I kind of like it that way because that way if dinner is bad he takes all the blame! lol I kid... kind of

~ On another note, we set a limit on our anni presents and said we wouldn't spend over $20. Mainly this is because we are heading to Charleston, SC for a week at the beginning of August which will cost quite a bit so there was really no reason to go all out on presents. Ha but maybe I should have considered what you could actually buy with $20... word to the wiser (than me) not much. Don't worry hubs, it looks like you have got one big glitter construction paper heart headed your way! ;)

Ok, that is enough brain dump for the day. You're even more welcome!

No Excuses

Sorry I have been MIA. With good intentions, I really did mean to post about HHI after I got back. For some reason though, I feel like my world is just jam packed right now. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for the places I get to go with my friends and my family and the parties and celebration that come with the summer season... I really do love it all! For instance, tonight I have a marriage date night at church with my husband, then tomorrow I have to go shopping to get a bridal shower present for the shower I have to attend in the afternoon, not to mention I have a hair appointment in between there somewhere (which btw I just found out my girl is going back to Florida and I could probably dedicate a whole post about how upset I am about it), then on Sunday is the typical church day with lunch and grocery. Geez Louise where did my weekend go?

So.... as you can see my schedule is pretty full and it looks that way up until August. Literally something all week so admittedly I have plenty to blog about just no time to do it! Sooorryyy :)

I'll do better, promise. As a matter of fact I WILL get those HHI pictures posted today...maybe even when I go home for lunch! I wish I could post them all but some are just a little..... ummm... inappropriate with our party decorations and all :)

xoxo

Justice

This might be a confusing post but I am going to try to get out some thoughts. This may even come out a little nonsensical anyway because I'm a little conflicted at the moment. I am sure we all know about the news that came from President Obama last night... it was BIG news. Admittedly I didn't know until this morning while I was getting ready for work but I will say that my first thoughts were that of happiness and some sense of relief. Immediately people are stating that the world is now a better place because Osama is dead. That, as Americans, we should feel pride and some sense of accomplishment that we got our revenge for Sept 11th. It wasn't until I was reading a friends comments on Facebook that I really felt guilt over those feelings. In her post she simply asked that we think about Proverbs 24:17-18 which states "Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; Or the Lord will see it and be displeased, And turn His anger away from him." This verse literally put me in my place and how awesome is it that God puts people in your path to make you think. Why is it that we rejoice when a brother comes to know Christ but are still rejoicing when we know that someones heart was lost and not with the Lord? That breaks my heart. Yes, Osama was a bad person and I am not denying that. Yes, the world might be a bit safer but my safety is still not guaranteed.
Bottom line is this... it is done. I understand the feelings of many across America. I just ask that you stop and think of this perspective too.

*EDIT: Please take the time to click here and read THIS post. It conveys exactly what I am trying to say...only way better and much more in depth. This post rocks.
